Neighbourly ("we", "us", "our") operates the Neighbourly website and mobile application (the "Service"), a hyperlocal community platform for Burari, Delhi and nearby neighbourhoods. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
1. Data we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone (if you add it), profile photo, password hash.
- Content you create — posts, comments, reviews, listings, chats with our AI assistant.
- Location data — only if you enable location sharing on your profile; you choose "Off", "Approximate (~1 km)", or "Exact".
- Device & push data — device push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging), browser type, IP address, coarse device info.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, error logs.
- Payment data — processed by Razorpay; we store only the transaction ID and status, never card details.
2. Why we use it
- Provide, personalise and improve the Service.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Send transactional notifications (in-app, email, push).
- Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with:
- Supabase — hosting, database, authentication.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Maps) — push notifications and map links.
- Razorpay — payment processing.
- Law enforcement — when required by valid legal process.

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, posts, listings, chats, and location data are permanently removed within 30 days. Backups are purged within 90 days. Some records (payment receipts, moderation logs) are retained where required by law.

Neighbourly is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
7. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest, row-level security, and role-based access. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong password.
